Promotional Products Are Hitting The Catwalk!

I’ve worked in the promotional product industry 12 years now...


…and in that time so much has changed around us especially with more advanced technology but not much has actually altered within the industry.

Clients continue to ask for a full colour print, on a minimum order quantity, stipulating delivery must be tomorrow. Suppliers still seem to take ages to get back to you, while their stock situations, print specification and delivery dates can change within a moment’s notice.

Then there’s the Trade Shows which are still quite traditional encouraging sit down, face to face meetings with a Sales Rep, sorry, Business Development Executive. Well that’s what I thought until I read PSI are offering suppliers the chance to walk their promotional products down the catwalk.

Now this totally makes sense with textiles but PSI confirm “watch collections, bags and new writing utensils will also be featured”. The motto of the PSI CATWALK will be “See, Admire, Applaud.” This sounds like a lot of fun but I can’t help wonder if it’ll actually help sell more promotional products.

Are suppliers right to be splashing out by putting their products on the Catwalk or could their money be better spent elsewhere.
