What is the best way to get great staff?

Honestly, I don’t know. This is something many Small Business Owners struggle with. Do you think the Old Boy’s Network is dated? A recent report from Nedbank, South Africa states otherwise.

Apparently “40% of small business owners stated referrals were their preferred recruitment method, which supports an international small business trend that has led to employee referral programs and incentives.”

Undoubtedly this is cost and time effective plus good performers are inclined to know like minded people. This sounds great in theory but can you really see it working for your business?

Another interesting point raised here is that increasing headcount is an important way small businesses grow and contribute to the economy. Is getting more staff crucial to business growth? Now so many tasks can be automated, I’m not so sure.
